The 60s were about changing things, making them your own. Experimenting with the conventional and exhibiting a healthy disrespect of experts and authority.
The idea of the Maxi style started as a sentiment, really, that fed this emotional rebellion. It then turned into a style. Longer was unusual. More interesting. European. Exciting.
Finally, it became this coat.
