This season features a print telling the legend that speaks to the powerful bond between mother and child, this tells the story of Ryuou-taro, who was born from Tsusaboro Wada and the woman Katsura (who was the incarnation of a dragon). Fully grown, he seeks to avenge his parents and does battle with the dragon, Ushikubo Gunryu, who had destroyed his mother long ago. The scene where he does battle using his mother’s mirror is a very famous image in Japanese folklore and is often seen in tattoos and woodblock prints.
